I am so excited to be teaming up with Soapbox Soaps to reveal their new branding and logo to my readers! You may already be a fan or have at least seen their products in your local Target or Walmart. To be honest, before I met their team at Natural Products Expo West this past March, I never knew their brand was natural or cruelty-free! I am definitely guilty of judging a book by its cover. Realizing many consumers do the same, Soapbox felt they needed to change their branding to better represent their products’ natural/high-performance formulas and their company’s overall mission. I am proud to say, they nailed it on the head!
Disclaimer: Soapbox Soaps sent me the products featured in this post for an honest review in return. Besides the free products, I am not being paid to write this review. All opinions are entirely honest and my own! This post does NOT contain affiliate links and the provided coupon code does not earn me a commission.
Since Soapbox Soaps was founded in 2010, their mission has been “to empower people to change the world through everyday, quality purchases”. How they accomplish this mission is what makes Soapbox Soaps stand out amongst other brands.
For every product sold (in stores and online), Soapbox donates one bar of soap to a person in need. To date, Soapbox has donated over 2.6 million bars of soap to various projects and charities in both the U.S. and abroad. Curious which project or charity your purchase went to? You can find out by entering your product’s unique “Hope Code” on their website here! I recommend exploring their site when you have time. They provide beautiful pictures and tons of information on each project!
Formulas: Soapbox currently offers a nice variety of bar soap, liquid hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Their formulas are very clean and use naturally derived ingredients that are free of parabens (chemical preservatives) and scented with phthalate-free fragrance. Soapbox infuses their products with exotic ingredients that do more than just leave you feeling clean. Whether it’s coconut oil rich in vitamins and fatty acids to soften your skin/hair or sea minerals to naturally detox your skin, all of their products serve a purpose! You can read more about their products’ formulas and purpose for each ingredient on their FAQ page.
- Ingredient Spotlight: Fragrance (Parfum) – Depending on how strict you are about artificial fragrances, this brand may or may not be for you. Soapbox does state that the fragrance they use is free from phthalates, the compound that gives artificial fragrances its bad reputation. However, considering all of their product’s remaining ingredients are “clean label” and fragrance is the last ingredient listed, I don’t personally feel these products will do you harm.
Price Point: One of the best parts about this brand is their price point. Bar/liquid soaps are priced at $4.49 USD and shampoo/conditioner/body wash at $6.99 USD. To put that in perspective, their bar soap is only $1 more than the conventional Dove Bar Soap meanwhile it’s made with better ingredients and provides a bar of soap to a person in need.
Packaging: All of their bottled products (shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body wash), are 100% recyclable. Soapbox works with How2Recycle to provide recycling instructions on the back of all their products.
Out with the Old, In with the New!
I took a side by side picture of the original Bamboo Shampoo (right) and its new packaging (left). I did this so those of you who already purchase Soapbox would know what to look for now and so you could see how amazing this rebranding is!
The product is exactly the same on the inside just with a new and improved exterior! I feel the new packaging better showcases the product’s natural and nourishing ingredients while the old packaging better portrayed the company’s charity work. But don’t worry, you can still find all that information on the back of the new bottle along with the product’s unique “Hope Code”.
Many people use to say the old Soapbox branding clashed with their bathroom’s appearance. Now their products are so pretty you won’t mind leaving them out on display in your bathroom! The liquid hand soap seriously looks so pretty on my bathroom counter (see below)!
Soapbox Soaps was super generous and sent me 4 of their newly branded products a few weeks ago in return for an honest review. The 4 products I received were:
- Coconut Milk & Sandalwood Liquid Hand Soap
- Bamboo Strength & Body Shampoo
- Bamboo Strength & Body Conditioner
- Sea Minerals & Blue Iris Body Wash
Liquid Hand Soap (Coconut Milk & Sandalwood)
This liquid hand soap is probably my favorite of the bunch. Aside from loving the way it looks on my bathroom counter, I love how soft it leaves my hands! Working as a nurse, I use a lot of drying/harsh alcohol based soaps so when I get home I need something that is going to repair and soothe my dry hands. My hands are visibly smoother and more hydrated after a single wash. Plus, who doesn’t love the scent of coconut and sandalwood?!

Shampoo / Conditioner (Bamboo Strength & Body)
If you’re looking for affordable cruelty-free/natural hair products, this shampoo/conditioner combo is a great option. I find a lot of natural shampoos don’t lather well but that is not the case for this one! I feel like I can really work the shampoo into my hair and get a thorough wash. The conditioner is on the heavier side so I focus it on the ends of my hair and use a small amount. I let my hair air dry after I shower and find my hair looks shiny and smooth.
Body Wash (Sea Minerals & Blue Iris)
I don’t usually use a liquid body wash but I really like this one. I found it lathers really well, especially when added to my body sponge. For this review, I used it in place of coconut oil to shave my legs and underarms and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. After getting out of the shower, my legs did not feel dry and were actually decently moisturized. The scent is very crisp and clean while not being overpowering.
